Privacy Policy
This policy explains how SCRShare handles information when you upload, view, report, or manage screenshots.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to SCRShare.com, approved SCRShare screenshot-delivery domains, optional account features, abuse reporting, and related service operations.
2. Information we process
- Uploaded content: screenshots and associated technical metadata needed to store and deliver them.
- Account information: if you choose optional sign-in, we process your email address and account/session information.
- Technical and security information: browser and request information, timestamps, rate-limit events, security-verification results, delivery requests, and security logs. Where configured, application records may use keyed or hashed representations of IP addresses rather than displaying raw addresses.
- Usage information: screenshot views, downloads, upload status, moderation status, reports, and basic service analytics.
- Report information: the reason and details you submit when reporting abusive content.
3. Why we use information
We use information to provide screenshot uploading and delivery; operate optional accounts; create short links and social previews; detect fraud, spam, phishing, malicious uploads, and other abuse; enforce limits and policies; troubleshoot failures; measure service performance; respond to reports and legal requests; and protect SCRShare, its users, and the public.
4. Public screenshot links
SCRShare is a link-sharing service. A screenshot may be viewable by anyone with its active URL. Do not upload information that should remain secret. Delivery pages can be configured to request that search engines do not index or archive them, but SCRShare cannot guarantee the behavior of independent search engines, messaging apps, social networks, caches, browser history, recipients, or other third parties.
5. Storage and infrastructure
SCRShare may use infrastructure providers for hosting, object storage, content delivery, security verification, email delivery, database hosting, and network protection. Screenshot objects may be stored in private object storage and delivered through controlled or time-limited access mechanisms.
6. Advertising
SCRShare may display advertising on the main site or screenshot-delivery pages. Advertising providers may process information under their own policies. Where feasible, SCRShare aims to minimize the amount of personal information required for the core anonymous screenshot-sharing workflow.
7. Cookies and local storage
SCRShare may use cookies or similar browser storage for essential sessions, optional sign-in, security, preferences, or service functionality. Third-party security or advertising components may use their own technologies as described by their providers.
8. Retention
Retention varies by type of information. Anonymous screenshots may expire automatically; signed-in screenshots may have a different retention period. Security logs and abuse records may be retained longer where reasonably necessary to prevent repeat abuse, investigate incidents, resolve disputes, or satisfy legal obligations.
9. Removal and account requests
If you have access to deletion controls or your signed-in account, use those tools where available. For other removal, privacy, or account requests, use the Help page. We may need enough information to verify the request and locate the relevant record.
10. Disclosure
We may share information with infrastructure and service providers when necessary to operate SCRShare; with professional advisers; in connection with a business reorganization; to investigate abuse or protect safety; or where required or permitted by applicable law. SCRShare does not need to sell user email addresses to provide the core screenshot-sharing service.
11. Security
SCRShare uses technical and organizational measures intended to reduce risk, including access controls, upload validation, rate limits, security verification, moderation controls, isolated delivery domains, and private storage architecture. No online service can promise absolute security.
12. International processing
SCRShare and its providers may process data in more than one country. Applicable protections can vary depending on the provider, service configuration, and location.
13. Children
SCRShare is not intended as a service for children to upload personal or sensitive content. Content involving sexual exploitation of minors is strictly prohibited and may be reported to appropriate authorities or specialized organizations where required.
14. Policy changes
We may update this policy as SCRShare’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date will be revised when material changes are published.
15. Contact
For privacy questions, deletion requests, or account assistance, use the SCRShare Help page.
